Principal's Message
Dear Cheetah Families,
Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! On behalf of the entire California Elementary School team, we are excited to kick off another fantastic year committed to ensuring the success of every student.
California Elementary School proudly offers a strong academic program enhanced by numerous enriching opportunities. This year, our Visual and Performing Arts Program will include weekly Music, along with our traditional visual and performing arts experiences. We will also continue our weekly Coding and Robotics program for all students. In addition to our core academic curriculum, our students benefit from targeted digital lessons with iReady Reading and Math, Reflex Math, and 95% Core Phonics. We are excited to prepare our students for their future.
At California Elementary, we understand the importance of developing social and emotional skills. Last year, we were recognized as a National Showcase School for Capturing Kids' Hearts for the sixth consecutive year! Feeling connected to their school is crucial, so we offer a variety of after-school opportunities, including Speech & Debate, Ukulele, tutoring, and Science Club, as well as other enrichment opportunities.
Restorative practices are an integral part of our approach to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment. This year, our Cheetahs will utilize the 3 Be’s (Be Safe, Be Responsible, Be Respectful) to guide their behavior in alignment with our school-wide expectations. By focusing on these core values, we aim to build a community where every student feels valued and supported. Restorative practices help us address conflicts and behavioral issues constructively, emphasizing accountability, empathy, and the repair of relationships. Through open dialogue and mutual respect, we strive to create a safe and nurturing space for all our students to learn and grow.
California Elementary is a fantastic place to be! Our school has received the California Pivotal Practice Award and the Best Elementary School Award from U.S. News & World Report. We share these honors to recognize the dedication and hard work of our students, teachers, and staff, and to thank our school community for their support.
We are genuinely excited for the 2024-2025 school year and look forward to partnering with you in your child’s education.
Respectfully,
Melissa Daniels, Principal
